I’m not quite sure that Shouma has romantic feelings toward Yoshino. It feels like the manga is set up to make us think that because it’s the most common trope with childhood friends, but this series subverts so many of the usual expectations that I’m suspicious. I think it’s quite possible that he actually views her as irreplaceable family, and is very protective of her in general, and dislikes Kirishima not because of rivalry, but because let’s be real, Kirishima is the kind of guy you should protect your loved ones from. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I have to admire Yoshino’s disciplinary actions for Shouma. I’m amazed he ever got into fights again with her being so embarrassing afterwards.

Basically, their understanding of each other goes both ways....Shouma's more or less must mean pretty good/quite a lot, and both know that. Kirishima is a stranger to their relationship and he's still in denial.
