I’m going through Junji Ito’s comics again since I got reminded of Gyo.
I guess the author wanted Junji Ito’s dated seinen artstyle rather than the horrors to carry out the serious tone of the story, the combination of convoluted political story and the artstyle is reminiscent of the Kosaku Shima series
