Went from "wow this bitch is Yandere" to "wow this bitch is just fucking DUMB". "I don't know if the numbers add up, but if it was 92% the birth rate would be higher (therefore it must be untrue)" being the absolute standout moment of the chapter.

@Lament he actually didn't asspull anything, If you go to the comment section from a couple of chapters before, you'll see that I had already theorized that everything that happened in this chapter was real. I never really saw her as a manipulative bitch, all her plans have been naive from the start, they bothered but never harmed anyone for real almost on the same level as making simple and inofensive traps just to get a few laughts. Everything she did, while a bother had never really shown her to be malicious, which is why in those comments I had put her past into question, because the pneumonia plan was indeed malicious. But everything she did when she had returned never felt as if she had an intention of harming the mc. Rather it felt more like she had something against Ayame, which would make a lot of sense if she actually liked the MC from the start and never intended on harming him in the first place. And this removes some of the credibility from MCs story, because according to him she had stood up on purpose to bully him. I had thought she actually had some other reason for it, or even that she had hurt herself or was sick so she couldn't show up. This chapter now revealed the truth, she was coaxed into doing it, fully believing it was for the better.

@BloodySorcerer Introducing a secret villain in the background as a deus ex machina is most certainly an asspull. It literally puts in to question the mc's whole motivations for disliking women, which is the driving force for his actions. I'd much rather have seen him slowly develop and overcome his phobia thanks to heroine rather than a sudden asspull like this. Yeah it doesn't necessarily mean he'll be immediately cured, but if he isn't, it this event wont be much of a catalyst for his rehabilitation as I can only seeing this as an introduction for an additional harem member. And of course there are hints in the present. Why would the things happening in the present be malicious? It was building up for the asspull.

It does and it doesn't, after all there was no way for him to know the truth back when it happened, so his reasoning still works even if the girl is no longer the villain. I think the problem here was that the author's signs of the girl being innocent of that past event were a bit too subtle. And the fact that the girl beside her was poorly mentioned made it worse than it actually should be. I found it to be an ok reveal to be honest, I've seen way worse happen in other stories, in this one the author at least gave us a small sign that the thot wasn't an actual thot

How can people be claiming this is an asspull when its been foreshadowed kinda heavily so far? Ibu was always confused about MC's reactions to her, this chapter explains why. She also couldn't be responsible for the rumors about ayame cause she just got here. Meanwhile a girl that certainly looks like an older version of ibu's friend from back then was injured by ayame in a flashback and lo and behold after that her reputation took quite a toilet dive. Wouldn't surprise me to learn Ako is behind ayame's troubles, honestly wouldn't surprise me to know ako was related to the student council president but i wont harp on that til i have more evidence.

Despite everything, I feel kind of sorry for her. She seems to genuinely like him and if she hadn't been taken advantage they might have started dating. Unfortunately she lost her chance and that's just sad to me.
