commenting on the "ye." if it's a suffix, it should be translated as "master." in chinese, the literal word means father of your father, as in grandfather but ppl use it to describe the master of a house. in this case, the meaning of calling them master with "ye" is a sign of respect for their power position and different from the master in master chen which is more of a master as in a skilled person. sorry for not explaining this well enough.
