Chapters like this really emphasize that this is a sloppy LN adaptation. Novel pacing and manga pacing is not the same thing and the manga suffers for it.

MC's AI isn't any better lol, she just doesn't resort to these shitty tactics since unlike Katsuya's AI, she is capable of verbally communicating with MC, so she can be more efficient when it comes to manipulation tactics

With Alpha, Akira can see and hear her, so the manipulation comes from direct interaction, but with Katsuya, his connection to the AI is weak so it's more subtle, she can only make "suggestions" and make it seem like it's from his own intuition. Katsuya doesn't even know he's got an AI in his head.

yes, the Alpha(s) tried to manipulate both Akira and Katsuya toward a certain goal.
Akira's Alpha acts like a mentor to prop him up "naturally" while the other straight up buff and mental manipulate Katsuya
and btw they are not the first one, they are the 499th and 500th, which mean 498 other before them has failed in some ways

Akira and him are yin and yang. Akira does everything for himself while he does everything for him and others. I would say he has the ideal leader built for him but realistically speaking if you're living in rebuild world, a lot lf people will be like Akira. I understand why Akira is like that because he raised himself while he is well off (can't really remember if he had a backstory). We see two perspective of people facing the harsh world they live in and I think that's really interesting. But, If I was the author I would rather have 10 chapters of akira and sheryl's bath scene

Sheryl probably won't not be able to understand, but I think she's likely to think he could be a liability to the operation. Our DranCam exec is trying to play the manipulation and coordination game, but she's not very good at it. She's thinking of Katsuya's group in marketing terms to boost the faction's image, and thinking things will just fall into place while glossing over smaller details which could make or break the performance of the operatives.

Huh, so Katsuya has been groomed into his narcissism deliberately by Drankam. The Administrative Department want a perfect poster-boy for their "rags to riches" project and screw his mental health if it gets in the way. Now he's getting double-teamed by parasitic AI and PTSD.
