i concur. it does feel kind of bad that he's been getting quite literally the best possible training nobody else has access to through alpha where he experiences fights to the death on a presumably daily basis, is being put through the most dangerous life threatening situations to the point he should have the experience advantage over a lot of other fighters, turns off the aim assist to get better intermittently and yet everybody he meets goes "he doesn't feel strong..." without fail
it's demoralising having a protagonist whose growth is denied at every turn and yet gets glazed by characters so much for things the series essentially confirms as not really being his achievements. katsuya is considered abnormally strong with or without his ai's support (though obviously she differs quite a bit from alpha and her support is shittier) but we've never had any indicator that akira is catching up, even if there's a talent difference i just don't believe he's carried to this degree. like, can we not have a character claim that their intuition about his strength seems to have changed? it's also strange, because compared to the beginning he does actually have a lot more agency in his thought process and comes up with sound strategies without alpha more frequently. if that's included in his vague "strength" he should LAP most of the other teen characters ie. ojou-san, katsuya, this chapter's obnoxious brat
