@shenmegami It's not about liking how he acts when charmed it's about not trusting the author to treat it as a violation on the level of rape going forward. I liked that he escaped being charmed and was looking forward to him hopefully growing as a character, not getting mindraped again.

You're talking as if he's definitely gonna be charmed again when he has had months to prepare also the way you structured your sentence implies he wasn't growing before the charm was released he was already showing signs of his old self and he was getting an understanding of what being a cultivator is. I too don't want to see him get charmed again but it's just wrong to say he can't develop while the curse is in effect.

The rest of your comments is a fundamental disagreement on what it means when someone directly takes away someone else's bodily autonomy in an invasive way or irrelevant so I'll not bother addressing it.

I asked you how it was similar to rape and explained how it wasn't actual physically raping. I mean I gave examples of him making significant growth as a person while he was still under the curse like how his old mentality resurfaced and allowed for him to make the best decisions, how he was starting to integrate his fathers attitude towards martial arts, how to interact with people from other sects and that was while he was under the curse.
