Told ya. Our FMC was right about everything and she did good killing both the man and his accomplice. I'm really loving this cultivation set up where strength doesn't justify everything and monster are called as they deserve instead of getting people sucking up to them as it happens in Xianxias/wuxias.

@Twinklecake Being self serving does not equate to being a monster,, sure, the two leads have goals that they would do despicable things for. However, what separates them from the people of hell manor is that they never resort to such things unless absolutely necessary, and tbh, that's how a lot of people who we find admirable and idolize irl live.

@twinklecake I mean it's a pretty messed up world they have, I don't think murdering your hostile enemies is really an uncommon thing, they just have less hesitation about it,
but when it comes to more innocent people, they absolutely have human hesitation, remember that time unbrainwashed Zhan hao totally hesitated and plead to her to tell her reasons , to find out why she was being evil and brainwashing him, ironically it was the reason he got caught by her again, but it shows he has his values and naivete as well.

@Legion_01 , well, this manhua technically falls under xianxia since they try to cultivate towards immortality, with xuanhuan elment in the mix, about time people using the genre as intended instead lumping every xianxia as bad manga, xianxia can be fast paced and overblown, but there are some that goes thru the story slowly. Bringing up wuxia is even weirder because it's pretty much just story with martial artist in martial society (murim, jianghu, or whatever u wanna call it).

@kamishiniyari technically, I don't care. The point of my post was that in all chinese stories, both wuxias and xianxias, society is depicted as comprised of human-faced monsters that are way worse than beasts (except the mc and his buddies ofc). Rap*sts, bullies, murderers, all of them are not despised in such stories but fawned over by all side chars until the MC comes to the rescue. Here, instead, ppl like the hell manor cultivator are treated and called for what they are instead that following a twisted law of the jungle.

@Legion_01, i don't know where you got that conclusion (chinese bad whther it's wuxia or xianxia), sure, you may not want to care, but using genre to lump the entire bad thing is stupid, this manhua is xianxia. Most korean murim story are technically wuxia, my point is that you can state a point without misrepresenting a whole genre. If you really hate how society is depicted in ALL Chinese stories(?) You might as well call them 'Chinese manga bad' than calling them 'every xianxia or wuxia is bad' because those genres scope include non Chinese stuffs and doesn't necessarily means bad manga.
Mdex also makes this issue worse because they only hav 1 tag which is wuxia, they literally thrown all martial and cultivation stories under wuxia.
