Amachi is like a manga protagonist who then ultimately failed and became frustrated. Now it makes sense why he didn't like Aoba in the beginning.

Would argue with the Ortega and Hooper comparison though, both are not bad strikers. Ortega's striking is bad only in comparison with legends like Max and Volk. Hooper recently destroyed a base kickboxer Borshchev in stand up.

Haven't seen Chase for a while, my memory of him was blocking every punch with his face (poor kid). Now that i think about it, style wise i think Amachi is more of a Damien Maia, since according to Aoba, he always goes for back control given the chance.

Ironically, Hooper is scheduled to fight Jim Miller, who is 41 and has almost 60 fights (record holder for most fights and wins in UFC).

Why are the TLs beefing ?

Short summarization:

1. Dark Reunion started scanlation after no one touched RB for a year.
2. The Start/Reas uploads shortly after DR. Claims he worked on it earlier then them and just waited for the chapters to pile up. He mass releases so people donate. To his credit, he boosted RB immensely online with the sudden amount of chapters.
3. The Start/Reas changes the name to SSS Scans after trouble with Paypal. Something he did multiple times as other groups from what i know.
4. SSS Scans reaches the end of the chapters he translated. Doesn't post anything after.
5. Unhappy with the quality of Reas/The Start/SSS Scans, Zekrom starts his scans at Ch. 139 so someone continues Red Blue in better quality and it doesn't get sniped/taken over by another group with scans of questionable quality.
6. Dark Reunion keeps working on the chapters Reas/SSS/The Start/Whatever uploaded so people can choose a scan with better quality in the future.
7. Zekrom plans to give the rudder to DR after they caught up from what i know. IMO even if he doesnt, his scans are good and he actually puts care in. DR guys seem to get along with him as well although he has nothing to do with DR afaik.

Thats the gist of it. Basically 2 independent groups delivering better scans to RB bc they are unhappy with the Start/SSS Scans work.

I'm 75% sure they did something scummy in their transition from ReallyShit Scans to SSS. I think they intentionally do the first chapter as SSS as shit as possible while not including any credit page to announce their change, so people outside of MD going to think that this is someone else. And if I remember correctly, they advertised their patreon on the previous chapter saying that they have chapters available there, meaning that they're charging for those shitty scanlation OR they intentionally do the shitty scanlation so that people would subscribe to ReallyShit's patreon.

Kudos to them. Must be hard to keep working on things most people basically won't read. I'm thinking to mention them in one of my future end page to promote them to people to help support them. I'm pretty sure they're accepting donations, right? Though I see some decline in typesetting quality when Mellow take over the typesetting. The Cleaning/Redrawing got so much better though.

Thanks! I think the author likely takes a lot of inspiration from the Japanese MMA scene, which I don't follow. So my parallels with UFC fighters might be not super precise, but sometimes there are definitely similarities.

Kenshin is definitely based on Tenshin Nasukawa, who had some MMA fights but is more known as a kickboxer and now does pro boxing.

This is news to me. I've some people reached out to me regarding similar things but I didn't know SSS used to be this Comicdom. I did a bit of searching after reading this comment and found out that they are scummier that I thought, if this is true. Now I kinda want to poke a bit and put some things regarding this in my future end page. But unfortunately, right now the source is basically just "trust me bro" and as scummy as they are, I don't feel right doing so without seeing any proof. Hey Zekrom, the Info was sent to me from someone unrelated to DR. Some of them know about the situation but since Reas left Red Blue, the situation is more chill now. You can find me in the respectives Discords you mentioned. IMO, the less you deal with Reas/The Start/SSS Scans the better - its a fight against wind mills.
