Why tf do they talk about relaxing and tensing like it's some masterful technique? That's one of the first thing you're taught in striking and get drilled into you.
This is just a very limited guess but here is my crack head theory
The author is very aware that his main target audience will be manga casuals who have very
differing levels of knowledge about combat sports and sports in general. So to not confuse or overwhelm his core audience he consistently makes sure to focus-on/highlight/exaggerate more fundamental and easier to understand concepts.
Ones that’ll usually be easier for the average manga fan dipping their toes into sports or martial arts in general. Cuz focusing on appealing to MAINLY or ONLY experienced practitioners may feel like a risk. Again, this is just the guess of a black American with limited knowledge on how Japanese authors try to net the most fans
