I wish they would make up their minds as to whether the great warriors are untouchable gods or not. Depending on what they want for the plot they'll either be able to kill normal soldiers with such ease that they might as well just send one against thousands or they'll have it where using their powers exhausts them to the point that they become completely vulnerable.
I thought that what they were building up to here was that Venersis had become so blinded by his abilities and power that he would have forgotten that it's pointless to be able to singlehandedly win if your entire army and your country's command structure is dead, but I guess we're just heading into yet another showdown?
Also given how much burden those duels are supposed to be, we're now supposed to believe that Yulian is already able to fight a guy at his level or higher? Immediately after a fight to the death with another guy who was at his level or higher, who also converted his lifeforce in an attempt to kill him?
I get that you sometimes do some wiggling to ease the plot forward but they have serious plot whiplash with whether these people endlessly energetic deities or are just several times stronger than the average human. Doesn't help that this endless war shit has gotten really stale.
