For those that doesn't know, yes he is the same hentai artist Fujimaru. His art style is distinct and his story telling has always been superb even in hentai. I'm both glad and sad. Glad he is moving to the mainstream media, sad that no new hentai works will be coming out. I really did love his art style.

There's some interesting things going on here. MC is full of contradictions. He's jaded after getting cheated on (fair) but he's been avoiding his feelings, too. Look at how quick he folded after seeing a pretty high school girl. I think this is a story where the guy will think he feels a certain way, then be in denial when his feelings scream at him otherwise. That's fun. I think it's also a story where his long-term arc will be to abandon safety for the reckless pursuit of the heart; For example, flirting with the cashier. The much younger cashier. The career-endingly young cashier.

Oh come on he started out interesting and folded like a wet towel in a single page, what the hell. The blueprint was right there - have the feelings slowly creep up on him like an infection as he desperately tries to deny and resist and struggle. Have him be tormented by how he's betraying himself, have him try with all his might to hold and be unaffected.
But no, all we got are a few throwaway "I can't beleeb" panels and token "I'm totally not gonna do it" lines. He's just gonna turn into an awkward high schooler while we occasionally get reminded how he's totally sworn off love in pages of no consequence. Damn it, it was starting so well.
