So normally, you write an inner palace story with multiple consorts vying for internal power, mainly having the intentions of each character being gaining more favor/affection with a specific guy. Secret homunculus child is weird, especially making them an antagonidt after developing the two leads is awful cause you're making the audience frustrated at a fictional child or suprised incompetebce of the two peoplr you just built up as competent. Cmon man, if this conclusion isn't satisfying im gonna drop this

And Efinia speaking as the one who is currently the head consort of an Inner Palace with the information she currently has the best way to protect who she thinks is her Majesty's child  is to make the cchil's mother the Empress.
the Heart is a different matter though.

So we got the elf girl acting characteristically stupid, I just feel bad for the Emperor who's only crime is not asking the Sage sooner and now he's getting accused of cheating again.

I don't feel bad for the Emperor at all. He's a total moron when it comes to the Efinia and he's consistenting terrible at handling the press/media.

Even his threat to destroy the stone if it puts Efinia in any pain is in character but a ridiculous thing to say. His aide is a troll who just wants lulz... this empire is screwed.
