I don't exactly agree. From what Zhul said, Vivian was actually losing all of her matches until her new sponsor bought her and started equipping her with magical items.

Mikogami is special because he's able to win while being weak and having no sponsor, while Vivian only wins because a rich guy decided to buy her and give her amazing equipment.

If anything, the fact Mikogami became so popular as "the weakest" when an "underdog gladiator" already existed implies Vivian isn't actually seen as an underdog by anyone. Which meakes sense because she's not an underdog when she has a rich patron basically handing her victories via equipment.

There are different rules for Singles & Doubles rounds.

In Singles fight, the match up is always Male vs Female, and the winner gets the loser as prize (if the female wins, then the female gets a temporary dick grow skill, while the male gets i think a permanent gender change skill applied, along with the usual aphrodisiac potion).

In Doubles, the standard rule is of a Master & Underling pair on both sides, with the winner getting the Underling of the opponent as their prize.
So far, we have had the standard pairing of M&F vs M&F, with the winner getting the female of the opponent as prize.
This is the first M&F vs F&F combo, and with a special rule as well, with the winner getting both the opponents as prize.

Singles are NOT always MvF, but can be MvM or FvF; the dick-grow and gender-change potions were developed for all forms of combatant win/loss combinations.

The "male vs female" that is referenced initially is in relation to it always resulting in a breeding, even if the man is turned into a woman and the woman grows a dick. We've already seen plenty of MvM fights, and there are also mentions of FvF fights offhandedly as well
