at first i was confident they were going to lose since so much of the audience was cheering for him and betting on him but the moment the crowd turned on him i knew victory was assured. even in this seemingly hopeless situation i'm confident that the crowd turning on him is the author's way of conveying that the mc will win since this is a story of an underdog overcoming all hurdles and fucking his opponents.

Him actually being able to lose a fight would lend the manga more excitement, though, make it more interesting, because then you won't know if he'll win the match or lose it. Instead of that, it's the exact opposite of Pokémon and Ash, where Ash would always lose his matches while this guy always wins it, neither are very interesting at this point xD

I think he will lose but it will be a whole arc on its own. The manga is just 20 chapters in and this is the first time we've seen him fight alongside the girls so it feels a little early for that, kind of like if Luffy lost to Buggy or Arlong.

If he loses this soon then it will probably be the final fight of this tag team arc that he loses.

I honestly think it would have been cool to see Luffy lose to Buggy or Arlong.
He's just starting out, it would make sense he's inexperienced and weak, and him losing could have opened up for a great training arc where he and his team realizes that they have to take things seriously and get stronger, or risk death before reaching their goals.

The issue is that the consequences of the MC losing are too high for the nature of the series. If he loses, he either gets bred or cucked. The latter is more likely than the former, but there's really no coming back from that tonally: the story is very much a domination game, and once that domination is broken it can't really be repaired. People would move on.

In order to enable a loss, you need to reduce the consequences. Kind of like double elimination tournament arcs, whose sole reason to exist is to allow the main characters to lose a match and still win the finale.

That all said, it's less about him winning, and more about how he wins, as that's not usually clear by the start. He invariably wins with cheesing strats, so the interesting thing is figuring out what he will break in the match structure to pull a victory. It's that kind of classic pulp fiction: you know the "hero" will win in the end, but the how and why is the interesting part.

They're both gonna be on the brink of dying, somehow manage to win and be all lovey-dovey (kinda like Mary at the end of the fight).
Not that I mind, if it's done nicely.

Ok, reread the last few chapters, and picked up some potential foreshadowing:

1. Alice was missing. You might think her appearance in the bubble in that panel with Suzu is alluding to her being there, but Zulu even confirms she's not there (and so no tsukkomi).
   So what kind of mission did Mikagami have her do?
2. The listening device. Most likely Luna heard something about their plans and that's why the current fight is so disadvantageous for them. If he figures that out, he'll most likely build a new strategy out of knowing what he didn't say
3. The items. He's already ruled them out, but I think they will be used in unexpected ways.

Additionally, there's the "You can use buffs on partners" thing, which I think will still be boosting Marl to 12.5 or higher, and it will end with her beating the shit out of the guy.

So, my thought is:

1. Mentally disable the nun by either overwhelming her with lewd, or laughing her head out (she's uptight)
2. Use the opening to force buff guy to attack him and use her shield ability to defend
3. ????
4. Fuck big titty nun

What do you mean? The last of the Big Four was revealed to have been a man that took a genderbending potion. The revelation did not stop the MC.

The sword master wasn't the 'owner' of himself, he was slave contracted to win and entered the arena based on that.
Likewise, the General, having just become a slave, should also just be a slave and be owned by someone so should be a prize once beaten.

It already explained that in a 2v2, only 1 become a slave to the opponent. And slaves can own other slaves, MC is the example of that.

I doubt it, if only because we JUST had that, last fight. The nervous nun is the more likely target, either making her scared or making her friendly. She doesn't look like she wants to be there.

I think if he can find a way to make her unable to heal without defeating her (thus copying her heal), it will be a big boon.

THAT SAID, what I think the final result will be, is ultimately copying the muscle guy. But not to buff himself. Instead, buffing Marl to 12.5x making her much stronger than the other guy with heal knocked out. This chapter started by noting that Marl was buffing him, meaning the skill can be used on companions, and I think that was foreshadowing. Mikigami is not strong enough for 10x to make a big difference, but Marl is strong enough for 12.5x to make a huge difference

That's valid, I feel like there might be another skill in use that could double her double buffs. Not sure how else it would be resolved, Mikagami is not going to be the "fighter" in this scenario. And the old guy does not appear to be fighting seriously, so any buff to Marl will need to be dramatic.

So, the male loser is turned into a female and r4ped by the winner.
But there's a skill for growing a penis, and there's a skill to turn males into females.

This isn't exactly anything concrete to go by, but based on her plans for the MC after she wins - she obviously lost, though, - it sounds like turning a male loser into a female doesn't happen instantaneously, nor is it mandatory.

With this in mind, I'd say there would still be a chance that the MC could have somehow gotten out of being turned into a female if he had lost.

Edit: I just realized after spending several minutes looking those two things up that you didn't even mention being turned into a female... my bad xD

Anyway, even if he hadn't been turned into a female after losing, there could still have been a path for the Author to take in the writing that didn't end in the MC's submission. He could have convinced the winner into agreeing to a partnership, taking on other contestants in a 2v2 battle going forward, or fighting for whoever beat MC and became his mistress, for instance.
