To think all of the villains' plans could be foiled if our dear MC just stuck to collecting his initial ambition to steal talents. Is it just me or did this manga diverged a lot from its initial hook for the readers? Maybe I could still barely believe that MC don't want Kouu's talent because he doesn't want to rule with violence, but he hasn't even been stealing other talents, what gives? Cool characters and powers are being introduced but where is our MC's role in all this, it's really a full-on drama genre manga now.

Yeah it isn't what it started as.
I think the mangaka thought about a plan and then they were like "this will be much cooler" and then just ran with a different scenario.
