What fighting game reference is being talked about here? Like there's a lot in the 90s.

Maybe it was Soulcalibur? It does have the most wacky and flexible character customization system and a certain famous Japanese Vtuber loves what her viewers share on her streams of the game.

From Gabcom, maker of popular series Human Hunter? 90s fighting game series that ushered in the golden age of the genre? What about this makes you think SoulCalibur?

It's an obvious reference to Takara Tomy's 2009 Wii smash hit Toshinden, the modern revival of legendary 90s fighting game franchise Battle Arena Toshinden.

I don't think there's any specific fighting game that is being referenced; at least not one that exists. Gobcom and "Human Hunter" refer to Capcom and Monster Hunter, but Capcom hasn't released anything that could be described as a "non-numbered spiritual successor to a 90s classic (which ushered in the golden age of fighting games) that is popular among pros, streamers, and vtubers." Street Fighter 6 is close but is a direct numbered entry rather than a "spiritual successor".

I think it's more likely that, in this fictional world, there was a spiritual successor to [the Gobcom equivalent of] Darkstalkers. It could also be one of Capcom's many other fighting games from the 90s, but Darkstalkers seems appropriate.

Story seems more serious lately.

What's wrong with crab omurice and twice-cooked pork?

Yeah that's true. Capcom did a pretty good foundation for fighting games with Street Fighter 2. Maybe a mishmash of two or three games?

Excellent lore building and world building, as always. Would play the heck out of that Gobcom game. Like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, I mean the Mid-age Mutant Housewife Neighbors

Vampire Savior is technically Dark Stalkers 3 and fits the theme of the series. I think a previous version of Dark stalkers 2 was called Vampire Hunter. The series naming convention is kind of convoluted but I think this is what they're referring to.

All right now it's all but obvious the Mom has an idea of what's up and would be totally cool with it if the kids told her. They need to tell her the truth so she can come hang with her oshi.

Although she lost much of her spiritual power after giving birth to Kaoru and Hinata, I bet she still could able to sense Dara-san's presence.

Idk why it never occured to me that the girl jurota does the shrine work with looks the same as sister-chan with her freckles.
Err her 'name' is Nagi, the blonde shrine maiden has freckles and adopt the same Nagi name. So which family do you think inherited that lineage and work?
