The story is quite decent, but the manhua itself is mediocre at best. The illustrators just put 0 effort into the setting, even less into scene backgrounds and let's not talk about continuity. One of the main elements in the early story is a certain river, which sometimes appears as a stream, others like a sea, with no land in sight; buildings will move or completely change in design and style from one chapter to another, they shamelessly recycle assets (all studios/offices are exactly the same room)...
Considering that half of the entire narrative is an accelerated evolution from small medieval town to 19th century city, the lack of effort is just disappointing. At some point they are planning a new street (not a road, a street) and they illustrate the project with the continental map. I guess it was easier to recycle it than to design a city (something they should have done already 30 chapters earlier). It's a pity, because although the story is good, the end product is cheap.
