Has anyone actually tried this? Because I’m curious about the taste. Butter and champon sound good with a beer.
I havent done exactly this, but when i went to hokkaido, butter was 300yen a block, so in addition to a bunch of other staples bought in the convenience store, i'd just mix in a tablespoon of the stuff. So instant noodles, store bought bento, plain rice, plain miso soup, clam miso soup,etc.
Tasted pretty good, just did extra cardio to keep it light in my mind.
It's similar to the practice in french (monter au beurre) and chinese (mei jau/mei yao) cooking to add a bit of oil at the end of a cook to season the dish.
