For those confused about the wok flame/WOOOSH!- common hokkaido miso ramen recipes start as a bean sprout/garlic/ground pork stir fry that uses wok flame chinese style cooking, with the miso base added after. It also helped attract customers- 7:20 of the video from the son of the first hokkaido sapporo miso ramen maker- https://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/en/shows/3004963/ Like many ramen shops, happened post war/Imperial Japan period with retreating and repatriated Japanese from colonized Manchurian China, so likely had a lot of influence from wok cooking.

Has anyone actually tried this? Because I’m curious about the taste. Butter and champon sound good with a beer.

I havent done exactly this, but when i went to hokkaido, butter was 300yen a block, so in addition to a bunch of other staples bought in the convenience store, i'd just mix in a tablespoon of the stuff. So instant noodles, store bought bento, plain rice, plain miso soup, clam miso soup,etc.
Tasted pretty good, just did extra cardio to keep it light in my mind.

It's similar to the practice in french (monter au beurre) and chinese (mei jau/mei yao) cooking to add a bit of oil at the end of a cook to season the dish.

If this were any other gyarus manga, Surime would be best and main girl. Unfortunately she's either 2nd or 3rd best here
