It’s been 12 chapters and seeming there’s no reason for her to be like this at all, that guy at least does, he is in grief.

she's getting paid to be the role of a girlfriend, not of his dead wife. its hard to explain if you aren't familiar with sex work related things but there's almost always very strict dos don't and lines you don't cross. so if you're paying for a girlfriend experience and putting her into this weird secondary role it doesn't matter if she's getting paid, its not why she's here. it's like asking your dentist to check your ingrown toenail "because they both deal with the body"

TLDR; The role she fulfills is that of a GF, even if he sees her as his dead wife, she is not forced to act like his dead wife(she literally is already rotten). ALSO THAT IS NOT SEX WORK, that is service work(renting a service strictly forbids sexual relations between clients and their handlers)
