That was a wild story, but I still don't understand why she admitted to cheating when she didn't 😕
From what I took away:

She felt like she shouldn't have to justify herself to a guy that confessed to her, and she selfishly wanted him to just assume it wasn't true from one interaction. Plus she thought it was wrong of him to take the picture in the first place rather than talk to her. If you look at the break up again, he barges in and accuses her of cheating and while she doesn't deny it she also never actively admits it. She wants him to fawn over her without questioning her behaviour.

Man that was really interesting. Their reason to break up was like a 90/10 her/him for me, he lost his calm too soon (totally understandable tho), that completely locked her from trying to justify herself after her first sentence (she still should have talked her way out don’t get me wrong). That crying scene was really well done too. Very good shit, thanks for translation

both are super shitty. Like dude, calm down and don’t even try for revenge. Just like, hang out in the woods on a hammock and read some books. No need for such darkness, bruh

It's because both of them were awful people.

The main character had no self esteem so he constantly fished his girlfriend for compliments. The low self esteem also lead to upon seeing her with another guy, he concluded she was cheating. He may have also been stalking her, to be able to "coincidently" just catch her with a guy like that. He has a nasty personality too: with how he just burst in and accused her and his present actions of harboring a grudge for years and creating an intricate revenge plan.

Also pointed out is the girl had a big head since she was pretty and treated the guy horribly. She riddiculed his hobbies never told him she loved him. Although, the reason she "lied" about cheating is because she was upset that he accused her, which made her fall out of love with him on the spot.

Honestly they were both terrible, so ironically, they're perfect for eachother.

Immaturity + emotional reaction.

To explain her side - he accused her of cheating, and he showed her pictures and she got mad. She says she was too full of herself having had someone confess to her and his low self esteem and "simping" behavior made her not super into him, and because of his accusation she convinced herself she didn't like him and decided to just ignore him like he ignored her. Basically the silent treatment. Immature shit, but they were middle schoolers, what do you expect? However, later on she realized her feelings, her mistake, and all the good things about him she never noticed before, and he had already moved away.

Ultimately I like this story, though I went in expecting incel bullshit it turned out quite realistic in a lot of ways. The stupidity of her actions is pretty realistic for 14-15 year old logic.

She didn't say she cheated, she wanted him to keep being upset about it, afraid to lose her, she said she was cocky about being confessed to.

But he just said fuck it, ghosted her and moved. She didn't believe he would.

I thought it was a pretty good ride.

Well you see her leaving an hotel and she is with another man, that's the first option everyone would think of. He could have a better personality for sure, but that incident is not on him 100%; saying "you should believe me regardless" nope, that's how most cheaters get by, so you have to properly explain certain things

Holy moly this is wild, and unexpectedly good to read.
But i think the guy's reaction make more sense than Hope You're Happy Lemon, where the guy and the ex reunited and act friendly as if nothing happened (romcom manga duh..) even when they broke-up because the ex told him she cheated with a multiple guys.
I still think their relationship won't worked out even if the girl told the truth back then, both were still young and shitty people and they keep hurting each other. Sometimes breakup is needed for peoples to realize their mistake and improve themself to be a better people.

It's like what she said herself, she was totally in the wrong, her ego was super inflated, and she put herself on a pedestal.

Just because he confessed does not mean that he is somehow not her equal. I'm certain that he would have apologized profusely if she had told him the truth.

The FMC's actions gave the MC good reason to feel unsettled and her actions in response to his concerns only worsened his insecurity.

The FMC complains about the MC fishing for compliments, but never even told him she liked him, once, even though he obviously went out of his way to show her that he cared for her, and based on looking at her behavior during the flashback, and her describing her opinion of him as tacky and unattractive, it's likely she treated him poorly throughout their relationship, due to not thinking much of him and a lot of herself, so can you blame him for seeking out some affection?

The FMC absolutely did not deserve to be in a relationship with the MC at all.

exactly my take. she's a landmine. cheating or not she is a fucking landmine... I'd file a restraining order for myself if need be.

Looking at the author's other work, I was expecting her to be a yandere & stab him by the end of this. Boy I was surprised reading this. Goes to show how important communication is but they were both young teenagers so I can understand why is got that bad. Regardless as the story progress, I firmly believe that they were both in the wrong & they both suck. The art is better than the other work I mentioned earlier. This is a good oneshot so hope more people give this a read. Thanks for the translations.

Middle school third year, that'd be 13-14 at most, you can't really take rational decisions at that age and that's what happened, it has nothing to do with explosive personality. It's more about naiveness and hormones than anything to do with being a landmine.

If your immediate conclusion is "they're cheating 100%" to seeing your husband/wife/bf/gf that's low self esteem talking. How do you expect to be married for life if you are skeptical of your partner every time they interact with the opposite sex. The normal person (or at least me) would be suspicious at BEST if they saw them outside a hotel (it's not as incriminating as outside their house, or a love hotel). Then they would try to figure out who the other person is. You see common tropes like "Girl is cheating, but it turns out it's their relative" too damn often after all.

Also, see it from the girl's angle. Her boyfriend out of the blue accuses her of cheating. She denies it and he shows "proof" (basically a creepy stalker photo with her dad). At that moment she was just done with him since he didn't seem to have a notion of trust in her, so she didn't deny him.

Although I'm not defending her fully: If I was treated like the way he was, I would probably assume she's cheating too.
