Uh... so yeah, if you've read the notes... we're expecting the very next chapter to be the last. We thought this has the energy for at least Volume 8, but I guess the axe doesn't spare anyone. Most of the important storyline did get adapted, so I won't be complaining too much (I'm still really sad though).

Chapter 36 in no sooner than August 26th. We'll also be posting the bonus from Volume 3 and 4 in 2 weeks.

Thanks for reading!

so this is how happy hunting grounds look for replicas, eh. Eternal highschool, heheh.

Thank you for the translation, gentlemen. The pacing feels rushed indeed

Both the anime and manga adaptations are cursed to be rushed, sad.

Thank you for the translation

I legit thought y'all skipped a chapter or something when I first read this, especially with page 14 convo. Oh well, manga really got axed, huh. I didn't expect the manga to skip like 70% of V4. Literally zero prospect of the manga continuing after ch 36 (unless mangaka changed their mind and choose to adapt LN V5 and/or V6, but very unlikely). Also, I just realized that the Replica Realm/Kingdom chapter was actually this short (it felt really long when I read the LN, I don't know why). Overall, I'm still somewhat satisfied with how it turned out despite the axe problem, I guess. Thanks for the TL!

But how does this tie back to the theory of "replicas aren't real"? I thought we had established that the replicas are more like alternate personalities, since no one ever observes the replica and the original at the same time.

Idk maybe I need to go back and re read.

In between the last manga chapter and this one, I finally caught up to the English light novels, so I was a little confused and disappointed that like you said, they cut most of Book 4 for the manga adaptation.

Personally, I would have been fine if they cut the first half of the book- it felt like they were mostly spinning their wheels and showing time passing with the sports day stuff and most of the Christmas hangout could have been cut down too, but the actual scene of Nao's disappearance in front of Aki in the gondola being cut is pretty unforgiveable- the mood of that scene is what makes Nao's whole conversation with Ryou work in this part of the story.

Nevertheless, I'm still grateful that the first three volumes of the manga are so fantastic, and they're what got me into reading the light novels as well, which I'm also enjoying a lot. It's just a shame this series seemingly couldn't get just two more volumes to make the axe sting a little less.

That was just a theory. It wasn't established as a fact. Besides, Nao and Aki were in Michizuki's house while Sunao and Yusha were on their trip, all at the same time. If the replicas weren't real, that shouldn't be possible.

Man wtf an axe? How much more of the story is there in the LN that could be getting skipped if it ends next chapter? Is the LN finished?

If I have to guess... it will skip nothing. The next chapter will adapt the last chapter of Volume 4, maybe skipping some very minor details at most.
Is the LN finished?
Yes. Volume 4 is the end of the main story, while 5 and 6 serves as extra stories to fill in some of the gaps in the main story as well as an epilogue.

Oh then how much did it really rush through? Because if the story is almost over then i guess the manga was already going to end soon anyway
