Thats actually pretty common in Japan, plus it is a very male dominant society. Cheating as long as is not romantically related is more akin to satisfying a biological thing (both males and females but the society is more lenient on males), a female stealing a married man is pretty much frowned upon unless the married woman is depicted as the culprit of that situation (ex being a bad wife, ignoring her husband so he was forced to find emotional solace in another woman those kind of things) and Karin is pretty good at gaslighting. She's fine with a man cheating but not a woman? What a pick me

Even in that case dont forget Karin lost her job due to that so japan might be lenient on cheating but not so much on home wreckers
She's lucky that Ito is still a kind person,I would beat the shit out of her siding with a cheater like that
Imagine being made to write an apology letter to the woman who stole your husband and tortured you for years as a child.
Japan is male dominated on a whole different level to the point a female is expected to leave her job and become a housewife when married, because continuing would imply lack of devotion towards her husband and/or shaming him by implying he doesn't earn enough so she has to keep working.I'd argue that almost all societies are male dominate (some more than others such as Japan) but you are correct picking on the blaming the homewrecker more.
