An Automotive Manga? Set in Australia? Interesting... I wonder how long it's going to take before we hit anachronisms / other errors due to the difference in Australian laws?

For example, Honda Trail Cubs (and later Super Cubs) were almost exclusively used by Australia Post, and they brought so many of them Honda made a special trim level exclusively for postal use. Locally, we call them "Postie Bikes" and for the longest time they were seen as the lowest form of motorised transport. They do not hold the same cultural cache that they do in Japan, SEA, or even in parts of Europe as there is no legal separation between these and larger bikes. You need the same licence to ride a Super Cub as you need to ride a 250cc sports bike, and as you might of guessed already, they don't issue these to minors.

The above is not an error, as I am assuming the girl is 18+ to work for Uber / the mechanic shop, but it just doesn't sound like a conversation someone would have here.

Where things will get interesting is if we delve a bit deeper into the restoration / automotive chat, as Australian Design Rules (ADR's) are really restrictive and sometimes archaic. If we are dealing with the restoration of Japanese stuff from the 80's and 90's, the best / most practicable solution is sometimes not legal, which is always a headache to deal with.

yeah, i'm seconding questioning the choice for this to be set in Australia in the long term, not because I wouldn't love more stories set around or down here, but because it's just baffling to have a story set here of this kind. but hey, maybe we'll see some more australian things in the long term and the translators can consult with some aussies to avoid americanising the tone

Hopefully the author and translator put in the hard yards because the aussie auto scene with all it's rules and regulations is sacred down here. People will dissect it as you can already see.

Any chance we can drop the prefixes too? It's set in Australia, you're translating to English and literally no one uses them here.

Actually, it could work if you refuse to use anyone's names an use swears instead. "Oi, cunt-kun. Whatchulookinat?" "Awwww shut up wanker-chan. Mind ya own yeah?"
