The separate manga that went on the backstory was only adapting 1 LN Volume (Volume 4.5), that one finished off the Volume and it ended, but author never bothered with more backstory until now, this whole flashback stuff was only 1 chapter long in Volume 7 this time anyway

A flashback worth 7 chapters is better than 1 LN Volume worth 44 Chapters, people would've riot if they actually put that whole extra LN Volume into the main story instead, so it seems kinda smarter move to me lol
