@givemersspls Yeah, I have to agree with you for the most part. They needed to radically increase the number of years to pull this off better I think, like maybe 1,000 years maybe burning down their version of the library of Alexandria or something. I've got relatively low standards so I'll be staying on but the way they're trying to force this flip of Amber Eyes from being feared to being treated like trash feels rather sloppily done rather than critically examined. 'The Strongest Sage' had a similar thing happen but handled a lot better I think, for example the demons infiltrated human society to specifically push false information, the time-frame was longer (500 years IIRC) but you also didn't know the time-frame until well into the story leaving details like that a lot less important. It still wasn't a perfect instance of a decline of society (like why would people forget where to find rare and valuable materials?), but it's an interesting point of comparison.

Ok, there is no fucking way people would forget that yellow eyes mean that someone is either a demon or has potential to be an ultimate badass in 200 years. Simply not enough time for a world where eye color is an important characteristic that determines one's magical affinity. And isn't main character one of the most important historical figures of his time period? Why doesn't anyone know what he looked like? His eye color sure would be remembered, because it was kind of a big deal. We sure as hell know the eye color of king Edward the fucking III and that motherfucker died 640 years ago.

While it is stupid that they wouldn't know the efforts of the Amber Eyed individuals, you gotta come to the realization that there's a chance someone in power decided to hide the fact they can use all the Elements as to lessen the fear of them. It's an effective way to end discrimination.

In this case its swung the discrimination has swung completely the other way though. Especially with the degradation of magical theory leading to people now thinking Amber eyed people are incapable of magic at all and ostracizing them for that. It's obvious his friends did this to assuage the guilt they felt when Abel disappeared.
