@shahzehan So you're saying the author wrote sex into the story just for the approval of other people? Is that not the definition of beta? Ignoring how hilariously stupid it is to take words like "beta" and "alpha" seriously, it seems like the people who use them always pick and choose where they apply. Even somebody so desperate for sex that they'll prostrate themselves to a girl will frequently be called alpha, but people who don't have sex, whether it's due to their preferences or the fact that they actually value platonic relationships, those people are "beta cucks" according to the largely friendless virgins who are reading about them. Does this dynamic honestly not trigger any sense of cognitive dissonance with you guys? Even if you yourself don't match the description, there's no way you think most people who say this kind of thing don't.

"Beta cucks" in this context refers to indicisive protagonists who're interested in girls, and the girls show interest in them, yet nothing happens for dozens, sometimes even hundreds, of chapters despite the story having a romance tag, and the biggest culprits these days are isekai stories. It's gotten to the point where a sudden sex scene is considered a refreshing change of pace.

The only story I can think of at the top of my head where the MC has a legit reason for not going after the girls is Exterminator. There the MC clearly says he's not doing it with someone he has no interest in. If more stories were like that, the beta cuck label wouldn't exist but alas we're stuck with indicisve protagonists for the most part.
