Seems odd how he's so devout about destroying magic yet doesn't consider partially turning into a spider and his powers as magic. Question is, is the demon trying to stop people from using magic to make them even weaker for malignant purposes like to make things easier for the new demon lord to conquer humanity or make it easier for other demons to move around without being found and persecuted? Probably more the former than the latter and considering how Ted is reacting I highly doubt there's any sympathy or good feelings towards humans other than use as disposable pawns or tools. Also, does the demon who seems to be into spiders working for a new demon lord or trying to prep things for a new war against humanity? Is he aware the previous demon lord's child, Lilith, is still alive and trying to find her to "lead" them to victory as well, and other than being the demon lord's child how much does he know about her? Considering Lilith was separated from the demons as a young prepubescent child there's a chance the demon hasn't recognized her, especially with the blue contacts hiding her gold eyes, and even in a confrontation will side with Abel. Be interesting after finding out demon's identity if Lilith knows him/her from way back when and whether she considered their relationship positively or negatively.

A lot of japanese manga and light novels do the whole grooming schtick but this is definitely not it. MC knew lilith as a child, sure, but only briefly and she's grown up independantly from him for 200 years. Logically speaking, the MC might be the more immature one in this relationship considering their ages.

@Mathiason @Greyhood In a world where magic is a real thing, their definitions of what is considered magic have to be more nuanced than "everything that doesn't exist in the readers/author's universe", since they don't know of a universe where magic doesn't exist. He'll think that turning into a spider is a power to rival magic, not that it's magic itself, since magic is "that specific thing where you use the element which is associated with the colour of your eyes".
This is a bad analogy, but it's kind of like if a medieval person saw our scientific world and saw people advocating against guns and weapons because they're dangerous and he asks "Okay but what about these millions of giant hunks of metal flying about at insane speeds on every single road that could each kill a dozen people in moments? Are those not dangerous weapons, too?"
