Revoke the newly added 1.5 rule?

I understand the intention but I think its a bad addition alongside the latest mass DMCA. They're for sure trash scans but I think they're still a big part of MangaDex's meat. Now there's barely any updates here like a barren wasteland.

Honestly, I just don't really want to read in their websites because my anti virus pop up like a virus itself with their sussy ads. Id rather just wait until they throw some meat in here and read those instead of having to browse in their website. But I'll have to put my feet into their websites with that rule though. Losing too many things to read here.

Three groups have been culled because of the new 1.5 rules, art lapsa, rithar scans, and nika toons.

The two ones whose fates are undecided are asmodeus scans and kdt scans.

There might be more coin based paywall groups I don’t know about though.

You can go read in the comments sections of those groups, people aren’t exactly happy about them to say it mildly. The rule was obviously a good addition.

I actually dont recognize those groups. Are they a non english scans groups? Im more talking about groups like utoon and reset scans.

I do admit though, that I just realize that not all the manhwa hogger scans got hit by that rule. And possibly, i might just be blaming the rule because theres no updates lately. Maybe there will be another mass post from their scans sooner or later.

Dang. I just found out that maybe all of the manhwa hogger scans actually did get hit by that rule. Just that the staffs are not fully cleaning their chapters off or something.

Guess this will benefit those groups because now readers like me are pushed to their website. GG.

Asmodeus scans are scanlating the top 4 and top 7 most popular manga on MD right now. Rithar scans is scanlating the top 5 most popular manga on MD right now. Kdt scans are on the the 8 and top 10 on MD (the top for this week).

Those groups are regularly working on the thing that has the most traffic. So if you haven't seen it, well, most people have already.

They were also sniping a lot of the series from other groups because they were popular. They're after making money after all.

I dont care about the making money thing. I care more about just being able to read. And i do know that their scans quality is trash and unworthy for this website's true intentions. Am i really just a different type of reader on the wrong website?

Also, if its about sniping, shouldnt it be a totally different rule?

Looking at the groups Bondejeger listed, i realize that i stop having an open palate for manga. Moved to manhua and manhwa. Now for mangas, i really only read quality Slice of Lifes mangas like the 2 okami high school SoL romance, Skip to loafer, Hirayasumi, Zaikin de Katta Hon and some others i cant remember. But all got booted by the DMCA.

Really now theres barely anything for me to read here. Now this website is going to be a totally clean translation group website but thats not a place for a reader like me.

There are no rules against sniping on mangadex, but in general people don't like it because it usually has negative consequences, especially when it's done by low quality for profit groups like this.

We don't really know yet how this place is going to be or if it'll even survive. Batoto apparently got sued for 1.3 billion yen, I doubt that mangadex would be able to handle something like that as well.

It's not about having an open palate, but having standards. Imo, whatever is in the top 10 is almost always very bad. One or two may be readable until it becomes boring. It's never great all the way.
I don't think it's your fault people want to scanlate trash manga or that Japanese authors like to produce it too (mass produce it, even).
It's fine that way; it's not like there's not a million of other interesting stuff on the website. You just have to look for it patiently. And if you can't find anything, then that's also fine; there's other stuff to do in life too ^^ You don't have to keep reading here either; that's your choice^^
Anyway, the most important thing is if you're having fun doing what you're doing, that's all.
I personally enjoy reading manhua more than manga, probably because all the trash manhua don't get to be scanlated on this side of the world? I don't know how it is over there though, maybe they also have too much slop, like with manga (I think they have less but that's not very important). But that doesn't stop me from liking certain manga very much, too! Just not a whole lot of them. (y)

I personally think cleaning the site of groups having unfair and predatory practices towards other groups or towards the reader is a good choice if you want to have a clean and safe reading environment. And I don't want to get malware by going on their website either. If I really want to read a series they translate, I'll go on an aggregator. Although seeing what they work on, I think that's quite unlikely to happen.

Well, the timing is kinda bad, but that rule really should've been added a long time ago, truth to be told and is still a good one
Yeah thats my problem with it. Why add it so late and at this timing? But luckily, i got some hope for this website because OtaGal Scanlation took on Extra's Survival Guide. Which i think means that now that those manhwa/hua hoggers are out of the website, other groups might choose to take on some manhwa/hua that those hoggers hogged.

Just a hope though. Cause i can see that they would think its a waste of time for 2 scanlations to work on the same series.

They dont work. I think the few days that i actually read in their websites, my internet actually acted weird. After gaming, i opened up my browser and it was struggling to get internet. But my phone was doing fine.

That extension is too good that chrome has made it unsupportable... Is it really time for me to move to opera?
"ublock origin lite" works on chrome.
(It's just not as good as ublock origin, as it only filters dns requests. In that sense it is quite similar to using a dns provider like adguard, which also filters domains. Changing the dns provider also works on chrome mobile btw.)

Regarding browsers, Firefox and Brave offer better privacy than Opera or Chrome.

I can still use Ublock origin since i never removed it from chrome.
try out
'ublock origin lite' it works on chrome
with an extra pop-up blocker or another browser adblocker (assuming lite itself doesn't block everything, it should though)

or use another browser for reading only

Or have never updated Chrome

Chrome disabled uBlock Origin with the manifest v3 rollouts.
nah my chrome is updated since they do it auto anyways
Version 137.0.7151.104 (Official Build) (64-bit)

they disabled the extension, and say support will run out due to manifest v3 and unsafe extension
you can still click on the ''3-dots'' and select 'keep this extension'
i will keep using it until i truely cant haha
