From what I remember, the MC gets full custody of his daughter because his wife’s lover betrays her and gives the MC proof that she cheated on him. So she can still see her daughter and whatnot, but she basically lost everything, including her lover.

I don't think the neighbor is the bait. She was already using misleading language on the very first time they met and now this drama - that would be too obvious. But discount girl looked to be genuinely concerned about Kokone and clumsy teacher seemed genuinely impressed by the MC, so perhaps it is the obvious one after all.

Planting someone at the daycare also sounds insane. The neighbor seems most likely to me, bite girl would also feel super out of left field after this chapter. Especially as she makes comments that would feel like a nudge against divorce.

Eh... pretty much. I don't really remember the details. I know that in Japan, there's financial compensation for the emotional harm and damage caused by infidelity, as well as child support, but I don't remember if she actually had to pay either of them. But yeah, she got divorced, lost custody, and also lost her lover.
