Well, I think a) Male Primonigeture is the thing (male heirs only) and b) Officail wives rank at the top (ie, since most of his children will be bastards, quite unlikely to have a right to compete for his titles. And even if not so, they would have to be able to muster enough support to stake their claim. Most likely result would be regional split. People from one region or ethnicity proclaiming their child are the true ruler, others proclaiming theirs etc.
