afterwards a bit of guilty silence before either he asks or she decides: to accompany him for the rest of his life
the baldeche seems to be a halberd without a spear to thrust the end. I researched it and apparently, there are no medieval weapons called baldeche so I must assume its a made-up weapon by the author
