I remember a quote from the loading screens on guitar hero:I don't know about other places, but in my town bass players are always the last thing to come because everyone wants to play guitar/drums or sing first, lmao. When I told everyone I played bass, they looked at me like I was a dinosaur come to life.
Lots of rock bands just look down on the bass even though it's still really important. It's just not as cool as playing lead guitar.Your bass is too loud, I can hear it
Also add the stereotype that the bass guitar is primitive and therefore it is played either by musicians with minimal skills, or by those who want to get into a group at any cost. For example, the legendary “of course the chick in the band plays bass guitar.”I remember a quote from the loading screens on guitar hero:

It's a shame cuz much like an orchestral bass/cello the bass guitar has a foundational role in the music's quality and tone even when its played so smoothly that you can't distinguish it. Letting the bass player show off a bit is always a treat too. Also add the stereotype that the bass guitar is primitive and therefore it is played either by musicians with minimal skills, or by those who want to get into a group at any cost. I want to learn to play the bass guitar.I don't know about other places, but in my town bass players are always the last thing to come because everyone wants to play guitar/drums or sing first, lmao. When I told everyone I played bass, they looked at me like I was a dinosaur come to life.
It's never too late to learn, especially if you like jazz or funk.I want to learn to play the bass guitar.
Its quite easy tbh just memorize this key [A BC D EF G] notes and, add flat & sharp note between them (ex: A#/BFlat, so on) except for note B and E since there dont have sharp note also plucking technique is quite easy, you just alternate your index and middle finger between beats also just practice consistently and you good to go unless you want to dive deeper you can learn slap and pop technique (which essentially slapping with thumb and plucking with your index while in thumbs up position), major and minor scale, tapping, groove, etc. I did play bass and I can say its quite funI want to learn to play the bass guitar.
