I bet Oto has read Lilisa back to front already and is just playing along to humour her. Tina-san on the other hand has bought that busking story whole sale.

This doesn't change the fact that she needs to, to put it mildly, make up her mind, because you can't run around your new older sister and despise her mother at the same time.
Nah, you absolutely can. In the same way I can (hypothethically) love my own parents but despise my siblings because they are assholes. Family relations does not automatically guarantee you can like a person or not.

And as others have mentioned, she has bonded with Lilysa the moment she saw her band playing. She has not bonded with her new mother at all.

We're not talking about banal love. And why this happened is pretty clear, but the fact that you know how the thing appeared does not cancel out the result. Even if you deeply hate your parents, you cannot objectively reject their very status as parents, and your biological siblings will forever remain so, regardless of your relationship with your father and mother.

We're talking about a clear context where she recognizes Lilisa as a sister but is toxic toward her mother, even though she's the person who directly connects them as siblings. If she denies her mother's maternal status, she is in fact also denying the central reason why Lilisa became her sister.

I really can't stand that whole "you're a commoner!!" nonsense.
Even if they are 10th generation bankers, you don't directly and outwardly insult the wife of the relative you kiss ass to.

That's just shitty writing.

you're acting like bullying is always hyper logical and never runs counter to what would be in a person's best interests. The husband wasn't there for half a year, and they don't like that some random lady off the street is now married to someone so powerful.

All of them trying to bully her into divorcing her new husband while he's not physically present is pretty much exactly how I'd expect things to go IRL. It's not "shitty writing", unless you think that bullies in the real world always have entirely coherent lines of reasoning in how and why they do everything.

Plus, they're sycophants, by the sounds of it. They'd see this behavior as "doing the patriarch a favor", because of their own prejudices, so they likely don't even see what they're doing as improper, much less morally repugnant.

Surely her lie won't come back to bite her arse later on right? :)
Also the dad actually seems pretty chill. If it isn't an act on his part, it'd be nice to have a great dad in this set-up.
Thanks for the chapter!

So, I guess the real drama is gonna be that Tadashi is so enamored with Yuka that he has no time for his daughter?

I think "the real drama" is that Alice lost her mom.
And now some lady came in and replaced her mom.

She herself had some of the same prejudices that those others currently badmouthing Yuka do, as well, but it's someone who, as we literally see in the dream at the start of the chapter, was very important to her.
Being resentful of someone that you view as an interloper walking into the hole ripped in your family isn't a stretch. Lilisa was able to have moments of bonding with Alice, but even the context of Alice coming to like her stepsister revolves around music, and the allure of rock'n'roll.

Remember--Lilisa also has run afoul of her mother, who is trying to quash everything of Lilisa's old life in an effort to get her to "fit in" to this new world and role that is being demanded of her. It's a core reason as to why Lilisa is gunning for the special title of her academy; she sees it as undeniable proof that she's fully crossed over into 'high society', in a way that can't be refuted by any potential naysayers. And she's doing that for her mother, as much as for herself, but she's still choosing to flout Yuka when it comes to matters of rock music and the guitar and those things that tie Lilisa to her dad.
Yuka is trying to excise her past and fully convert over to this new life. She's not being malicious about it, but it's very "fake" of her, and something that Lilisa has refused to do at her core. Alice has resonated with Lilisa on that very thing, whereas Yuka is trying to assimilate into Alice's life, and that is what Alice is pushing back against.

And again--she apologized to Lilisa for her behavior in this same chapter. She realizes what she said and did and how wrong it was. But her reaction is entirely understandable, and honestly I'd argue summing it up as tritely as "drama" as people have here, is doing the characters a disservice.

Consider this a response to your comments as well, @SuperOniichan .
