No matter what happens, no matter who he fights. In the end Mega Man will always face off against Dr. Wily, in one form or another.

As it should be.

Thanks for the chapter.

I guess whenever something goes wrong Megaman really should go and interrogate Dr. Wily first.

Wait… Wily became a good guy?
If you think about it, his goal of robot liberation is a noble one. His apprentice may have just misinterpreted his will.

Or this could all be Wily's plan to end Megaman… again

Wily's always been evil but complex. He believes that robots are going to rebel and rule over humans (he's right, this is the plot of the Megaman Zero games) and wants to help robots rule over humans so that he can stay in their good graces and be the best-treated human or hailed as a hero by the future robots overlords. He supports robot liberation even if it hurts humans for his own self-centered gain.

I can't lie, I'm still half expecting all of this to be a smokescreen and Dr. Wily to pop out of nowhere with his newest Wily Machine

Dr. Wily as a character has always been weirdly complex especially since he has multiple different goals and ideals. His primary goal has always been to satisfy his ego by dominating the world and humiliating Dr. Light, but he has a lot of different philosophies attached to that:

1. Dr. Wily believes robots are just tools and should never have been given intelligence, both for ethical and practical problems
2. Should robots necessarily have intelligence, Dr. Wily believes they must also be given freedom and not be stuck in limbo of service, this is because he believes that robots in servitude are inferior in performance to robots with freedom
3. Dr. Wily doesn't believe that robots with sentience will be capable or treated as equal to humans and giving them sentience without freedom only creates conflict
4. Dr. Wily's loyalty is foremost to himself and his goals of fighting Dr. Light, but he is also loyal to humanity as a whole with or without robots; he doesn't want to bring the overwhelming calamities or genocides seen in later Mega Man games after his death

At least that's what I remember from Dr. Wily, actual details will change depending on the time, media, and person you ask since most of this is vaguely implied at best.

Hmm

If you take Megaman X and Zero into account, this would probably have been after he copied his mind in what would eventually become Serges and Isaac, so whatever changed his mind did not get to affect them? Because in here it seems he would not be interested into creating Zero and the Zero Virus - which later becomes the Maverick/Sigma Virus.

Or maybe he is. She did say he thought her interesting from her cibernetic parts, so he may have just wanted to check how she ended up and just happened to create affection for her and she became his apprentice.
After all, her description of how the terrorists affected the robots, who then infected the protector robots, feels very familiar... A bit too quick to be Roboenza, but...

Cyborgs, that's a new one. I know in the Zero/ZX humans and robots are more similar, and Legends has the Carbons. Yet this is the classic era, I shouldn't be surprised they exist, heck sometimes I think over time Wily became a cyborg himself.

We can't be sure that's not another projection the mad man is hiding behind.

Wily in this manga is a better human than light lol

No fukn way light and megaman would just ignore the crisis of Aurora town, even before the robots made it better.

So... she's basically the Classic timeline equivalent of Lord Gospel from Megaman Battle Network 2?

you know, it is kinda weird that I don't recall a cyborg in the megaman universe until ZX, where reploids advanced so much humans were modified to have reploid skin and the like, and Legends later, where they are just a normal sight because they are all a new lifeform that is more like biological robots, so those are just as if changing clothes or at most tattoos for them
