MC was only healed, and it gave him a strength boost through the next day. If you're already prejudiced, then any effect that makes you feel different is going to be suspected of malice.

I think the development of MC before engaging with the main plot made it feel way less cliche, especially at the start.

This could still be good though, I don't even mind the cliche honestly but the relationship development is the main part I guess.

If you fully trust the person, they could give you a vial of cocaine, and tell you it's a military grade battle stim that will turn you into an unstoppable juggernaut, but if they are already convinced you're the devil and you spray a bit of air freshener, they are going to assume you are spraying something harmful. If you think about it like that, then a defense spell, that numbs you to pain, or even just gives you the vague feeling that you are sturdier, is going to be treated like you've just drugged them.

They clearly did know what she cast, they even recognized it well enough to name the magic.
Or if you are arguing one has to name spells to cast them in that world, using some kind of chanting, then they could hear the words and know what was invoked and that it clearly is safe.

Someone could say "Pocket Sand" while hurling chili flakes in your face, does that mean that they only threw sand at you? Doesn't matter what she chanted, or how she explained it after, they weren't listening, and they didn't want her "evil" magic cast on them. They were probably told ahead of time, that she planned to kill them on that field trip, so they were just looking for any excuse to lynch her.

What are you smoking? This is MobuSeka but without the endearing protagonist, well thought-out setting, and otomege love interests who aren't just two-bit villains (fuck Jilk though).

The guy is seriously threatening to destroy a fucking orphanage. How moustache-twirlingly evil can you get? What an absolutely lazy characterization for the "bad guy royal scion" compared to a character like Julius. And thus far we've seen nothing to indicate the main character has anything beyond the most cookie-cutter, self-insert personality imaginable in stories like this - i.e, doesn't even deserve to be compared to a character with as much pomp and bombast as Leon. Never mind straight up speedrunning the heroine's arc, whereas Livia's arc actually plays out over time.

And don't even try to tell me that whoever-the-fuck is going to end up being anywhere near as compelling or well-written as Marie. Even in a genre this derivative, she's as much of a shameless rip-off as you'll ever see.

I'll give it leeway to improve with time, but acting like this is better/has more development than MobuSeka based off of two incredibly mediocre chapters is wholesale insanity.
