Romanji or English title?

As a contributor, I think we should padronize and have all the titles be only one, I've already lost updates because someone would go and change the title from romanji to english and vice-versa. I didn't put this on suggestion because this isn't a feature that mangadex needs but a consensus that the community should reach. Since this site has an international community, my opinion is titles should always be left with the romanji/original name.

I like romaji better since I often took english as manhwa/manhua but english title also make better clickbait at the same time.

It's funny that you think it's funny that people are talking about the anglo-centric title usage, on an English-Centric site. If people could read Kanji they wouldn't be here.

@AbyssalMonkey Yeah and, instead of translating, we should just post RAWs. Romaji uses the ROMAN alphabet, to say it is "english centered", I don't even know where that came from. How many do you think there is in this site that can understand the alphabets that aren't based in the roman one?

@MavB_Ver I saw that on the suggestions, but atm it is our job to choose which version of the title that is shown and I wanted to know if there was a consensus in this.

Isn't this what the follow list is for? Every time this happens to me I just check the manga page and figure out what it is instantly.

@jokerxhisoka - I'm fine with how it is. I enjoy seeing the titles in both. Since I follow any title that interests me I've never had a problem with losing track of a series.
I don't really need to see the title in multiple languages, but it's not for me -- nor does it affect me. I also enjoy seeing the english translations, so I'm sure plenty of others enjoy seeing their language translation.
I also think you're missing the point @AbyssalMonkey was maybe trying to make? Romaji only works because it's an English phonetic translation. (the romaji most people use -- since there's actually several types of romaji) If you make that the standard then there's literally no reason not to simply translate it into English at that point. The only thing Romaji is, afterall, is how to say Japanese words using English sounds. Not to mention people of other languages may already know the title based on their own language.

@Granitefish - No. Even back with Batoto this has always been an internationally focused site. You can even choose your preferred language and hide all others to tailor it to better suit your preference.
It's English-centric if you make it English-centric. It's Spanish-centric if you make it Spanish-centric.
Just because the people who created the site speak English (presumably), doesn't mean they created it specifically to cater to it. If anything, the great lengths they've already gone to accomodate other languages would say otherwise.

@Happily_Grim even internationally used it's still English-Centric. the vast majority of the site is still catered to English. Even if I change the language of the UI the forums are still in English. It may cater to other languages, but at it's core it's english. I'm not saying it's English only or that Everything needs to be English. I even disagree with this post.

But let's not deny that even if they don't want to cater primarily to the English speakers, at it's core the Site is primarily English.

@Granitefish - I don't think you said English enough. Add it a few more times. I'm joking, plz don't get mad

Besides the forums, they've done a great job at making the actual core of the site (series, chapters, releases, and ability to comment) accessible and multilingual. You can still cater this site to your preferred language and not have any real different core experience than someone else. The forums are nice and all, but they're definitely not a central part of that experience; which is obvious when you consider the hundreds of thousands (if not more) of unique visitors daily that completely ignore them.
No one ever denied that the site has a large English speaking contingent; I even mentioned the site being created by them (presumably). But this site being multilingual has been that way since day one -- It's not an afterthought. While as English-speaking website creators they may have difficulties creating certain aspects for an international community, the core of the site has always been an area with international focus; which is the manga. Hence my preveious statement: It's English-centric if you make it English-centric. It's Spanish-centric if you make it Spanish-centric. It's Italian-centric if... -- well you get it.
