Lower image resolution, but feels like they have some more details in the images. Which could be a byeffect of original digital and not scanlated page that gets cleaned afterwards.

People complain about snipers, but here's a series that flatout would hardly ever have official translation due to its content.

But it became popular. Because niche people with good taste did everyone a favor by translating it. And due to their efforts making it popular. Here comes the nice official translation snipers take it out.

God. I hope against hope the RGS folks don't have to drop this. Because I sure as FUCK am not reading this in those clunky ass "official" manga websites. Especially with how far behind they always are.

Nah, this isn’t on them. RGS was licensed by Medibang, a smaller translation company (they also work on a bunch of Manga Plus titles). This same issue happens with one of their other titles, Killing Bites. It feels like they just have one size of image they get their raws from, quality be damned. I checked in with the Comikey team before and they said the issue is out of their hands - the same issue is in MediBang’s volume releases too, and nobody’s going to fund a correction.

Also, for those concerned - the scanslation team said they’d continue to work on it because the official release is of substandard quality.

As long as we aren't threatened or sued or there is a high quality official translation that's up to date, we don't have any plans to drop RGS. I'm somewhat hopeful we can continue since this appears to be Medibang's translation and scans. Medibang already did the first volume which has been available in english for over a month now and we haven't received anything yet.

I'd be happy if only they focused on the manga enough to catch up with raws.

Obviously quality, seeing this bread being thinly sliced to 1.1 1.2 1.3 is a bit worrisome.

But first and foremost, I am currently unable to pay for translation services (thank you bald gnome, ruling this wonderful country). So being forced to drop a beloved series because they are now officially available (to anyone but us, coz fuck the small man, right) would be another nasty surprise.

There is still a service issue. These "official" sites are awful to use. They are way behind schedule. And they're coopting someone else's hard work, most companies are unlikely to have picked up this due to its content, but now that someone else has made it popular.

And of course, I want the actual authors and artists to get their bread money. But I'm not willing to sacrifice the quality and acess to the content that I have for the sake of it.

In fact, do the guys have a donation button on their Twitter or something? They deserve it. They make this shit with love and it shows.
