dunno if a cultural thing but seems like some ppl would be more straight forward about it. my parents (i'm also viet) weren't lovey dovey but they weren't really hiding their feelings either tho their bluntness was more about shit-talking others

feels like it'd be best to be direct and only send 'signals' if you're in a group and don't wanna stoke competition/think someone else would want their affections but eh

Yumi's Cells and Daily Jojo has some fun relationship stuff but maybe a bit more lighthearted (tho there are some serious stuff later on relationship dynamic wise)
