Hopefully the typhoon actually passed by them and they're not in the eye of the storm. Having been through a decent number of hurricanes, including two of which where the eye passed over where I was, it's very deceiving how the rain and wind stops so suddenly and it looks like the storm has cleared if you don't know any better.

The same area on the moon looks like a crab too, like the rabbit ears are one of the claws or something. Bunch of things like that. I forget the term for it but it's probably there at the other end of that moon rabbit link they put at the end of chapter anyway.
