Eh I liked some parts of it and others left a bad taste in my mouth.
Mc feels like a badass wish fulfillment where his only weakness is his “dark past”. The gags about drag queens aren’t really funny to me, and the chapter about him playing with poor black kids left me wondering was the moral just “being poor with family is better then being rich and alone”. Feels like a strange idolization of hyper capitalism when the author basically acknowledges the dystopian aspects of it, but brushes it off with fan service and badass main characters. Rudolf’s character is pretty shallow imo, I know fan service sells, but it’s hard to sell me on his “dedication” to Lupin when he’s surrounded by an entourage of women who serve him and give him kisses on the cheek.
The art is amazing, and I would almost continue reading just for the great character design of Rudolf and Lupin. The action is very well drawn and Rudolf does feel like a good balance of badass and easygoing to the point where he isn’t annoying.
Overall for me, 7/10 It isn’t really my taste, but I’d binge it if I had nothing else to read. One of those turn off your brain and look at the nice art and badass explosions. I’m honestly more interested in the romance between Lupin and Rudolf, but it’s mostly a gag right now.
