Agree. Hostility and intolerance are often the result of simple misunderstandings and lack of proper communication.I can relate to ruri, I met a guy once who really didnt like me, unfortunately I didnt have the guts ruri has and I just left it at that, but I really just wanted to do what ruri is doing and ask what was wrong
It's literally true in the rewrite. RawRi just isn't good with them, and she sticks with what she knows. ReRi deliberately chose not to deal with them.Maeda is a jerk. She has all these petty grieveness about people she doesn't bother getting to know and has the absolute chutzpah to be mad at Ruri for not caring about people. Projection much?
That's exactly what's coming across here. Can you not understand subtext without getting it exposition vomited into your mouth?RawRi just isn't good with them, and she sticks with what she knows.
I wouldn't say it's "subtext" because there's no metaphor or need to read between the lines. Just an implication. That's exactly what's coming across here. Can you not understand subtext without getting it exposition vomited into your mouth?
Yes. That's how characterization works when writing above a 6th grade level.I wouldn't say it's "subtext" because there's no metaphor or need to read between the lines. Just an implication.
Yeah I noticed that too.Maeda is a jerk. She has all these petty grievance about people she doesn't bother getting to know and has the absolute chutzpah to be mad at Ruri for not caring about people. Projection much?
It really isn't, since throughout the whole story, we've seen deliberate choices by a spunky, outgoing character in the rewrite. ReRi has been perfectly fine with people until the "localizer" realized that she's supposed to be meek, and socially awkward in the last couple of chapters. From the inclusion of frequent sarcasm, to prayers not to be noticed turning into deliberate plans, to her outright telling people to leave her alone, rather than pleading, ReRi is the very definition of "I could totally deal with you, but fuck that noise".That's exactly what's coming across here. When people project, they usually want to transfer their uncomfortable feelings and the blame for them onto other people. In that case, what makes Maeda feel uncomfortable?Yeah I noticed that too.
Her behavior is textbook projection 101.
She wasn't exactly meek and socially awkward in the one-shot either. She was sarcastic and just got a bit uncomfortable with all the attention she was getting. Pretty consistent with the regular series to the point that I can't tell the difference. Don't tell me those fautless translators fucked up too.It really isn't, since throughout the whole story, we've seen deliberate choices by a spunky, outgoing character in the rewrite. Characterization is about more than what the story literally tells you in dialogue.
