Seems like there might be more supernatural elements beyond dragons at play, based on En's comment about the shrine and surrounding land. I don't think the series will go full "Actually, I Am..." with the school, but it'll be interesting to see what else the mangaka will include in this universe.

Possibly. Also possible she's just been venting the pressure before it builds up.
The longer you hold it, the worse it is when it comes out.

So the dragon is actually meek, polite and reasonable. And now it's turned into Dragon Maid, especially with that "washing your dragon like a car" comment.
