Who knows. I'm just referring to the fact that a suspicious teacher who knows a lot of information about the MC's superpowers is quite an excellent option for the first villain in an action story. Especially considering that the villains in the first films or the first arcs are usually directly related to the very essence of the protagonist.
Even more suspicious is that the author went out of their way to state in this chap that Ruri's Venom is "not a respone to humans", possibly implying her body may have subconsciously sensed another dragon nearby, and reacted in self-defense.

And now sensei here is being suspicious.

I will remember your theory in case it turns out being true.

I've been wondering, but shouldn't there be government personnel or someone watching over her?
There's probably some kind of response team. Whatever Mom used to do too, and has cache from that she's using to navigate the system to keep Ruri from being treated "guilty until proven innocent" by the powers that be.

So, do you really think that she might clash with him as another dragon in the future?

now im wondering, what glands are even there producing all this shit, like the fukkin poison and whatnot? where are they even located?
Let's just hope she doesn't develop Ilulu-style "fire sacs" to store those glands :haa:

The only page I see it says anything close to that it says 'it does not 'target' humans' and not a 'response' as you say.

As in the venom she let out is effective against different kind of beings.
Like how caffeine is very effective against insects (the intended target) but not so much for humans...

Now you made me imagine Ruri evolving a long frog tongue to eat flies. :kek:

Alright, her poison is meant for self-defense, and it came out during stressful times as she's made to be a public speaker against her will. The pressure of being put in the spotlight is triggering her biological self-defense mechanisms.

If this is how she reacts to work stress.

I dread to think what power bullying will unlock.

She gonna cause an earthquake?

All this talk of Ruri's "toxic biochemical" is throwing me for a loop. x.x
It's not meant to be used against humans, so it wouldn't work, except it could??? Wha???

Her biological defense does not match either venomous or poisonous real life self-defense mechanisms:
“Poisons need to have direct contact with skin or enter your body through your mouth or nose. But venoms are transferred by causing the skin to break down and injecting the substance directly into the bloodstream,”
source
Toads are technically poisonous as they release toxins from specialized glands near the back of the head when threatened. While some, like the cane toad, are especially toxic, ingesting the poison produced by any kind of toad can have potentially lethal consequences for pets (yes, I saw the post talking about using toad venom as a recreational drug). The only similarity with Ruri is the effect of the poison.

Spitting cobras spit actual venom as a self defense mechanism, except cobras spit venom from their fangs and the venom itself is a neurotoxin, not a hallucinatory agent. Typically, venom must enter the bloodstream to cause an impact, which is why snakes don't poison themselves, but for spitting cobras the target is the eyes. I'm guessing this is how Ruri is supposed to use her toxin?

The closest real life example I can find is from birds that spit acid as a self-defense - not venom, acid. This form of self-defense is mostly to drive away predators, so it just stinks more than anything and might make the target sick.

You're telling me, that Ruri spits toad poison like a bird??? What???
The whole reason it works for toads is because it's secreted outside the body - ingesting it is what causes poisoning.
Is that why they're calling it "venom" like with the spitting cobra?
But then why doesn't she spit it from her fangs?

I feel like these and other questions will not be answered. x.x
(Also, don't mind me, I'm sure half of what I'm saying here is not entirely correct anyway.)

It prolly amuses me far too much how wrapped up her horns were after she vomit-fainted.
Yuka will abuse her grey zone no matter what.
Seriously? They discussed the venom itself, which is good, but paid little attention to the fact that it could potentially be a result of her being stressed and overworked? However, we must pay tribute to Ruri’s endurance after semi-public talking about the “fluid produced by her body.”
i mean, they talked about it somewhat indirectly. Ruri is or at least was High on her own venom? as the above Post and effects are kinda weird. i would assume judging by the form of involuntary emission it would be a Hemorragic venom or neurotoxin.
Teach better not be her dad.
Teach did say she’s far from the first one who’s different.
Im going to guess the teacher is in the organization that Mrs Aoki was in when she became the Dragonslayer. Her membership was terminated because of negligence of duties, or she was Demoted to Cubical Slave like we see occassionally as punishment for her negligence of duties.

at least using Chekhov's gun to analyze the material so far, Yuka is a Demigoddess and the teacher is refering to her. Wild speculation demands i hypothesize her dad is Zeus.

I imagine Ruri is going to be spitting venom at those two girls sometime soon. Also, in unrelated news Ruri might not be able to spit venom given this chapter makes it sound like her horking it up was essentially an autoimmune response rejecting it from her system. Putting aside it isn't meant to be fatal, I do wonder how it's "meant" to be used, is it just mixed in her bodily fluids now ala the kissing reference? Is it meant to be Injected via bite? Her mom says it was described as "Dark Magic" in its effectiveness and I am curious how literal she's being with that. I'd think seemingly not given the story has been surprisingly grounded so far, but at this point it's still up in the air.

As for her teacher, I've been reading he knows more than he's letting on since just about the start of the series. The more interesting question is who the "cleanup crew" were. This chapter is very strongly implying there's been some amount of jockeying going on behind the scenes with Ruri and there is apparently some kind of official organization that involves itself in the supernatural. The way her mom talks about her now being in a Gray area pretty much confirms that SOMEONE is keeping track of dragon adjacent stuff and choosing whether or not it get a pass.

Also the casual way Ruri's mom mentions her dad and "his ilk" and the fact dragon venom is both psychologically effecting and not meant to be used on humans basically confirms this is a setting with more than just the one supernatural being running around. I wouldn't be surprised if we meet some of them.

Mom called it dark magic, so I would not think about the logic too hard.
