THEORY: He's her dad in human form, if it turns out to be true you heard it here first .... I hopeteenage drama is exactly what i want from thisand i want the teacher's lore. how does he know so much abour dragon stuff???
wounded her trought back then though, so fingers crossed and hope for the bestWell, she's never singed her lips while breathing fire, so one has to assume at least some degree of fire resistance
Those "friends" are treating her like a side show and constantly ignoring her boundaries. She has a right to be upset and she also has a right to be skeptical. No one wanted to talk to her and now people want to use her as a grill and demands her plvua pressure to do so. That's straight up disrespectful. They never want to listen to how she feels and just like to constantly invade her space. I'm happy that she is setting boundaries for herself and hopefully she becomes more comfortable with that. People need to understand the word no and accept that. I hated how people just dragged her around when she plainly stated that she wasn't interested. If someone says no you accept it and move on and keep your judgements to yourself. That was a really ass move by Ruri. She just pushed away one of the only friends that always got her back since her dragon traits appeared by questioning her friendship, when it's obvious that Kashiro honestly cares about her. You bet Kashiro was hurt from Ruri's unfair words and attitude.
Ruri is being selfish and thinking about her relationships only from her point of view. This little hypocrite is the one that keeps putting her dragon nature first and foremost when dealing with others, an attitude she has criticized over and over when dealing with her schoolmates
Just going to repost this. Those "friends" are treating her like a side show and constantly ignoring her boundaries. She has a right to be upset and she also has a right to be skeptical. She needs the empathy right now. Not them.Wow that's one big dick move here.
Out of all her post dragon awakening friend she's made, ponytail girl is one of the more geniunely supporting one she's getting. And she pushes her aside over what ? Because she's sticked to her cause she found her traits interesting ? That's stupid, that'd be like pushing someone aside because she firstly befriended you over being the same gender or found cute.
Pigtail girl acted exactly how someone smart react whenever they feel misunderstood, she acted like the jerk she obviously isn't to check out the reaction. Ruri isn't very smart not to have seen through that, honestly. I'm pretty sure my BBQ was more smartly designed and it doesn't lit itself on fire.
At the same time I don't think friends are bad either. Ruri herself was a loner who never bothered reaching out, or even remember her classmates' names. Sure she's more popular now, but until she learns how to set boundaries - people will try to push her, not because they are insensitive, but because it's something cool and exciting and never-seen-before.Those "friends" are treating her like a side show and constantly ignoring her boundaries. ... No one wanted to talk to her and now people want to use her as a grill.
You're purposefully mixing her classmates/schoolmates with her true friends to make a point, when it's painfully obvious I'm not talking about her attiutude towards people that are not her friends. She has a right to be skeptical, but here she's being an asshole and perceived as one too. Those "friends" are treating her like a side show and constantly ignoring her boundaries. Most friendships develop over similar hobbies. Her being a dragon isn't a hobby. That's like me being friends with someone because they're six foot tall. That's not something they can control and not something you would bond over. You're purposefully mixing her classmates/schoolmates with her true friends to make a point, when it's painfully obvious I'm not talking about her attiutude towards people that are not her friends. So what, after months of hanging out with Kashiro she suddenly wants to "set boundaries" out of nowhere because of some wrongfully perceived offense? Ruri is basically lumping her with the rest of the classmates, rejecting her and you can very evidently see Kashiro was hurt by that. The dragon traits were just "the hook" that made Kashiro approach her, merely the starting point of their friendship. You know that's a pretty usual situation from which friendships are born, right?
I don't have any problem with them being curious but I do have it when they ask her to do things that she really doesn't want to do and they continue to pressure her. That's why I'm hoping that she learns to set boundaries during this arc and tell people that's she's not okay with them asking her to be their personal BBQ grill. It's one thing to be curious it's another to invade someone's space and then expect them to act as you want them to. The teacher also seems to be encouraging this which is really sad as they're the adult and should have empathy for her situation and not pretty much reply with suck it up and deal.I don't think that anyone is in the wrong here. Ruri has been in the spotlight nonstop for 3 chapters now - from giving opening speech, to hauling stuff around helping everyone, to getting used as a grill, to getting grilled by her teacher in front of everyone.
She's tired, hungry, and overloaded - and with that it totally makes sense that she went into a total meltdown and pushed her friends away - no matter how irrational it may be, people sometimes act like that. I've seen 30-years-old doing worse, and Ruri is still a teen.

..no? It’s just a compilation of previously serialised chapters in volume form; the cover is presumably referring to chapter 23.Wow we really have a lot to look forward to in Volume 3, won't we?
