I envy people who are reading this for the first time. It's been over twenty years for me and it still hasn't been topped.

Author can eat a fat dick (even if they were only nudes or whatever is the reason for such low penalty) but sadly, his work is good.

Ignoring what the author has done, the manga itself is rather bland. I honestly wish i had just kept my memories of the anime from years ago and left it at that. Especially after the last arc, would go further into detail thou seeing how this is a spoiler free chat this would have to be the end of it.

I came here to comment how I like this manga. I left learning about the author. My innocence with Rurouni Kenshin is gone.

One of my first manga with Love hina.

Still a masterpiece and one of the three manga i would recommend for beginners with Great Teacher Onizuka and Full Metal Alchemist.

Out of curiosity, how bad were things found on the author's hard drive (or whatever)? I understand that as culture we're currently allergic to gray scale and can't even simulate them through dithering, but unlike binary legal aspect, ethical dimension is likely a spectrum, and hoarding seventeen year olds lewds probably isn't as 'bad' as stacking images of preadolescents (or worse).

Probably will end up reading it anyway (just as I still fire back t'hriller' once every few months), but would still like to know from someone who's been following the case.

(Just give me a number, everything that can be said about morals had probably been said already.)

@25mg12 According to a report by Yomiuri Shimbun via Kotaku, investigators discovered DVDs featuring nude girls aged below 15 years old at Watsuki’s Tokyo office and in his home.

Authorities came to search Watsuki due to suspicions that he purchases illicit DVDs; these suspicions surfaced during a separate child pornography case.

Watsuki reportedly told authorities, “I liked girls from the upper grades of elementary school to around the second year of junior high school.”

Very fucked up can't belive his wife didnt divorce him

All I remember about this manga is the (MAJOR spoilers)
ridiculous bad guy whose blood literally boils.

Still laugh about it every now and then.

I used to come home from school and watch the anime on Cartoon Network. This was during the manga boom of the early 2000's, when Tokyopop brought over so many titles like Initial D and Great Teacher Onizuka, while Viz would eventually release their own English language Shonen Jump, where I was introduced to Naruto, One Piece, and Shaman King.

Kenshin was one of the few manga I actually managed to get a complete collection of during that time period, primarily to see the final arc that was never animated. As I saw the anime first, I didn't think the manga captured quite the same feeling, but it worked for me. And in every volume, there were extensive notes from Watsuki to the readers, to the point where I felt a sort of rapport with the author.

Then years later, I hear he got caught with a bunch of child porn.

That's my story.

This one was my very first manga tho I didn't know any Japanese at that time (and my japanese skills still are lower than a toddler's 😅) but I loved it. It's a shame that the author is a pervert 😓😫

And it's still going... Tho I don't know... I haven't even tried to read the ones that came after the main manga and I didn't even watched the two-three seasons that were made by another studio (a North American one or something like that) that are pretty much canon (?). Ah! But I watched the first live action movie and tho it wasn't quite right, it wasn't that bad for a live action, and someone told me that the other three (or two, don't remember) are better.

I actually wanted to start reading this after I watched the first half of the anime. But after what happened with the author :/
