So after reading through the story so far (no objections to the translation) i feel the urge to pass judgement upon this. Very subjectively.
The character of this story, Hyce, is overly compassionate, honest, and a man with a strong sense of justice.
He shows again and again how much he stays true to his word yet the one (Sasha) he valued the most in his heart broke that very concept.
The thing is, that Hyce would only acquire the needed hint (the diary/weapon manual) by staying with his original party. Without being in there, he would never gotten it, never achieved the needed knowledge how to use his skill (old elf lady probably doesnt count).
He needed to risk his life to get his skill to work. The Heroine is so condescending to disregard his commitment to their once shared dream and threw him out, so he would almost never achieved using his skill. Her mistake caused him to loose half his eyesight and yet Reynold and Geist blame him that hes at fault for not moving on without any proper compensation in a social or medical manner. Thats disregarding the value of his life that Sasha supposedly held in high regard.
And his original party never once invited him back in over two years? Pure humiliation. They are bonding to each other without him and are actually allowing weaker people in the party like the royals yet they exiled him. Pure hypocrisy.
They still call it the right decision. Thats just plain discrimination of the socially weakest former member.
Hyce values others lives and needs higher than glory hunting, which sets him apart from Reynold, Piazzolla and Sasha. He wouldnt abandon people in need for increase in rank, like they did to him.
They are completely indifferent to his suffering which they inflicted and force their demands on his wrongdoings, which are in their perception facing danger trying to understand his skill, not trusting people after they chased him out while he loved them and just wanted to be with them. They disregard his existence and moved on without a care after trampling and crushing him completely, calling it protection for his own good and safety. But instead, they broke him with every decision they made.
If they not admit being in the wrong, of course he could never forgive them then. Destroying other people lives for selfish gains is quite honestly just the opposite of being considerate.
I know that my comment was written in a very agitated state of emotions. Very much projecting own emotions here, never before gotten so heartbroken over a manga.
Let me know how to post comments right if i did something wrong here...
That being said, please continue on this project. I want to see Sasha redeem herself and Hyce being healed from the indifference and malice that was forced upon him by his former friends.
