I used to be pretty sure it was going to just be Regina because of how easy it would be to set them up if you send them off on an adventure together ... but with all the new characters you forget she even exists most of the time.

Recently the series has been introducing such an absurd number of new characters I wouldn't be surprised if we haven't even met the one he'll be paired off with. Or even worse, they'll bitch out and not pair him off with anyone at the end.

I definitely don't see him dying at the end though, that seems completely at odds with the tone the manga has been going for since the start.
