I'm honestly not that bothered by the axing, the author obviously wants to keep the relationship appropriate and there aren't many ways besides a time jump, and once they manage to date it wouldn't make sense to keep milking the story since the title would be completed.

This makes sense. There wasn't much room left to go without them hooking up. In their situation that's a really big crime. To protect sensei from that, the kid made an executive decision to remove herself from the situation until she felt it was appropriate.

It's also proof of her character growth. A smart and mature decision made by a kid is impressive.

Well that was a bit abrupt. The yurihime axewoman has been just vicious lately.

Idk how I feel about the timeskip. Obviously, their relationship will be a lot more equal and healthy if they're both adults. But that inequality and sense of immorality is exactly what agegap yuri is for, so I feel kind of cheated. Like, wasn't that the point? What's the point of setting up an unhealthy teacher X student dynamic if you're just throw it away before they get together, y'know? Why not just have them both be the same age from the beginning.
I'm not blaming Aoto-Sensei, of course. I doubt this is the ending she had planned, if not for editorial bloodlust forcing her hand.

haha, what a predictable end for this kind of story. these are a dime a dozen. an author that wants to draw age gap student x teacher but is either too scared to commit or blocked by their editor/publisher. it ends up being for no one- people who read for the age gap and want to see them actually get together without a time skip will be disappointed, and people who would clutch their pearls about this kind of relationship wouldn't even give this story a chance in the first place. oh well! maybe next time.
